An Unpropitious Quest to Wellness
Mills was somewhat of an adventurer, an explorer in search of one of the most precious commodities in life – wellness. In the summer of 2016, Mills took a trip to Peru as a self-exploration and deep dive into his wellbeing.
In July, the brave explorer summited the 19k ft. Mt. Pisco in the Andes mountains, voraciously looking for an epiphany. But what was waiting for him below the summit was worse than he could’ve possibly imagined. Mills contracted an amoeba parasite. Unable to eat or drink, Mills lost over 30 lbs in just 3 days.
After refusing advances to remove his colon from Peruvian and American doctors, he found relief in a variety of plant medicines and copious amounts of cannabis oil, which eventually killed the parasite. In his own words, “In healing myself with plant medicines, I stumbled upon that epiphany.”
His friend and business partner, Haris Fazlani, created MINERAL shortly after he returned from Peru, a grateful, changed man. The men took the opportunity to reintroduce their community to plant medicines as it quickly became their calling.
